CrossFit is one of the most practiced and recognized forms of physical fitness today with over 11,000 affiliates worldwide. Whether you’re a mom who wants to improve your current level of fitness or a practicing mixed martial artist looking to increase your agility and endurance for competition, CrossFit is for you!
KUCrossFit trainer and champion kickboxer Moe Travis explains CrossFit as, “a strength, conditioning, and movement philosophy that takes functional movements and groups them in a mixed modal manner, does them at a relative high intensity, and injects variance into how they are delivered. The outcome is participants become well-rounded and improve in all areas of fitness.”
CrossFit enables and encourages its members to optimize their own physical strengths in 10 key areas: cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy.
