The KnuckleUp family received some shocking and sad news from the IKF Kickboxing Tournament in Orlando, FL. today. A former KnuckleUp teammate and dear friend has passed away after being knocked out by her opponent in the championship bout for her weight class. Adrienne Simmons, an Atlanta local, was responsive at the event location but no ambulance was on standby to transport her to the hospital. She was eventually airlifted to a local medical center but was in a coma upon arrival and passed away a short time later. Our thoughts and prayers are with Adrienne’s family and friends during this difficult time. She will be missed as a fighter and, more importantly, as a friend.
